It is entirely a personal thing. My career was in prehospital emergency medicine. Scrubs literally represent work to me. They destroy my headspace. I also think they are VERY attractive. And I don’t want attractive! I want prison to be a bit brutal.
The jumpsuit is just utilitarian and somewhat ugly. It is pure workwear honed down to not even a pocket in some cases. Therefore it is perfect prison clothing!
