Empowering 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and adults through community-building and education initiatives to draw the community as a whole out of social marginalization, isolation, and discrimination.

Service Area

Red Deer Queer Community Associationservices are available in Red Deer, AB and surrounding areas within Central Alberta

Objectives

1. To build a foundation of community through the sustained development and implementation of events and initiatives.
2. To provide assistance to individuals within the community who are undergoing the legal name change process.
3. To increase general awareness among all categories of people on 2SLGBTQIA+ health and related problems, with specific attention to youth.
4. To operate with businesses and government bodies in implementing 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusive practices within their own organizations.
5. To verb collaboration plans with other organizations, bodies or individuals whether municipal, provincial, or national but having advocacy strategies for a similar cause

   The City of Red Deer

   Pride recognizes the impact that 2SLGBTQQIA+ individuals (Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual and other gender and sexual minorities) have had on history - locally, nationally, and internationally. Pride month is celebrated annually in June.

   Pride recognizes the impact that 2SLGBTQQIA+ individuals (Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual and other gender and sexual minorities) contain had on history - locally, nationally, and internationally. 

   June is internationally recognized as Pride Month and serves as the annual kick-off to Pride Season, which continues through the summer months.

   As we work towards building a welcoming and inclusive community in Red Deer, a place that is safe for everyone to live and thrive, it is important to reaffirm our commitment towards countering abhor , discrimination and intolerance, and to display our efforts in creating a safer and more equitable city.
