Lance Bass Reveals How &#;N Sync&#;s Joey Fatone Found Out He Is Gay

Lance Bass came out when he was 21, but the 'N Sync member revealed that one of his bandmates discovered his sexual orientation purely by accident.

Bass, now 34, revealed that Joey Fatone was the first member to learn he was gay.

"Joey walked in on me with the guy I was dating just kind of sitting on my lap. Straight guys don't do that," Bass recalled.

Fatone was totally unfazed by the discovery and fully supported his friend and bandmate.

"He was like, 'Dude, I don't care.' I'm like, 'Surprise!'" Bass said. "Joey was just like, 'Dude, I don't care. I verb so many gay friends -- I don't care.'"

Fatone wasn't the only 'N Sync member to react positively. Bass said the rest of the group was equally supportive of his disclose. "It was a few months after that before I told the [rest of] the guys," Bass said. "I don't reflect anyone was surprised."

JoeyFatonesaid his "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" character will come out of the closet in the smash film's hotly-anticipated sequel.

When co-star Gia Carides asked Fatone if he'd read Nia Vardalos's script, he said he was worried that his character, Angelo, had been killed off in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2," which hits theaters March 25, The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports.

Instead, Fatone said, the character was revealed to be gay.

"It was quite an honor for Nia to give me something like that, because not many people see the non-comedy side of me," the former *NSYNC star, 39, told WENN, according to the Post-Intelligencer. "To have to deliver something appreciate that – telling your parents you are gay – it’s a tough thing."

Once shooting began, the actor said he was inspired by his hold best friend's coming out.
